I had purchased one a few years ago (an inexpensive one) and no longer use it because to got too dull too quickly. However,If I was to purchase one it would be a Swanstrom disc cutter.
I love mine! I have a Pepe #196.10 set with 11 sizes. I use it all the time and have never been dissapointed with the results. Be sure to use Pepe lube or some other form on the punches before each cut - that will keep them sharp as new. I think I got mine at Otto Frei a few years ago.
Thanks everyone...I have read good things about both the Swanstrom & the Pepe...the Pepe is a whole lot cheaper but I can't find one anywhere...I mean anywhere...everyone is out of stock. I'll keep you posted.
I have a cheap set from Harbor Freight and while it does the job, it doesn't do it without filing and clean up around the edges. If you can spring for a swanstrom or frei, it would probably be better worth it. Maybe Santa will remember how good you've been this year?
I got a pepe from sparklingshamrock on etsy. She didn't have any in stock at the time, but reserved one for me when I convod her..it took about a month but was worth the wait as I didn't think i would use it enough to justify the swanstrom when my wish list is soo long...
